Sergeyenko reviews harvest campaign in Vitebsk Oblast

Yakubovo-Agro, one of the leading enterprises in Dubrovno District, harvests 8-10% of its cropland each day, representatives of the enterprise told Igor Sergeyenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, the president’s authorized representative in Vitebsk Oblast, during his working visit to the Vitebsk Oblast, BelTA learned from the press service of the House of Representatives.

Igor Sergeyenko reviewed the progress of the harvest campaign at farms in Dubrovno and Tolochin districts.

Among the district’s top-performing agricultural enterprises is Yakubovo-Agro, where grain and leguminous crops have already been harvested from 1,000 hectares, with the oat harvest next on the schedule. According to the company’s director Natalya Shendrik, combine operators harvest 8-10% of the fields each day and expect to complete the campaign within 10 to 15 days, weather permitting. At Pravda-S enterprise, construction of a 777-head dairy facility and a new calf barn is nearing completion. Company representatives briefed Igor Sergeyenko on the economic benefits the new facilities are expected to deliver. At Geroy enterprise, harvesting is being carried out simultaneously with preparations for the sowing of winter rapeseed. Igor Sergeyenko also visited a grain drying complex in the agro-town of Stanislavovo.In Tolochin District, Igor Sergeyenko inspected fields belonging to agricultural enterprises actively harvesting grain and leguminous crops. Farm heads said they had sufficient machinery, spare parts and fuel, adding that the key factor behind the campaign's success was the motivation of combine operators.

Summing up the working visit, he stressed that both the pace and the quality of the harvest campaign in Vitebsk Oblast were steadily improving.
